Character

The wide pale-yellow sapwood is soft, non-resinous and even-textured. The heavier heartwood is deep yellow to reddish brown and is resinous. It can be knotty, with resin ducts that show as the dark fine lines on the surfaces of a board. It is not a durable wood.
